Photographic Prodigy Joey L to Hold First London Workshop at Complete Ltd
Complete Ltd are pleased to announce that this April,2013, Joey L will be holding his popular international photography workshop at Complete’s studio, The Old Schoolhouse.
New York based Joey Lawrence, who is more commonly known by his professional photography name, Joey L, is best known as the creator of the Twilight movie posters. When he was just eighteen years old, Joey was commissioned to create the poster for the movie adaptation of the first Twilight book. Since the release of the first film in 2008, Joey has worked on diverse photography projects such as creating portraits of Hollywood actors & music celebrities to documenting and photographing indigenous tribes people of Ethiopia.
Canadian born Joey, travelled to Ethiopia three times over the course of three years to photograph the Karo, Mursi, Hamer, Daasanach and Arbore tribes of the Omo Valley. As of February 2013, Joey is hoping to raise $150,000 on Kickstarter, the world’s largest funding platform for creative projects, so that he can produce a full-length feature film on the people of the Omo Valley, starring the people of the Omo Valley. To fund this project Joey is holding a series of international digital photography workshops to raise the proceeds for the film project entitled ‘People of the Delta’ The workshops which have been also held New York and Toronto this year, cover areas such as commercial lighting set-ups as well as post-production techniques and retouching. The popular workshops attract an audience of willing students from as far flung as Dubai, India, Ireland, Germany, Italy and Canada.
The team at Complete Ltd are thrilled to be providing the space and equipment for Joey’s first ever London based fund-raising workshop, which will run for four days in our Shoreditch studio, early in April 2013.
