Merry England – The Eccentricity of English Attire
Complete Ltd makes the colours “pop” for new photography book which celebrates the very best of English traditions and British sartorial heritage.
2012 has been a great year for Britain. It goes without saying The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and The London Olympics has put the U.K. into the global spotlight. These remarkable and memorable celebratory events are the perfect cue to launch a book which continues the English story outlining and documenting the little eccentricities and passed-down traditions that contribute and make Britain a colourful place. Merry England – The Eccentricity of English Attireis the first book by social events photographer, Merry Brownfield. Brownfield, who has spent the last decade photographing art and fashion parties for publications such as British & American Vogue, E.S and Grazia magazine, turned her lens towards old & modern English social tribes for her debut into book publishing . The book which observes and captures traditional sub-cultures such as Morris Dancers, ruddy faced fox hunters and Pearly Kings and Queens sits alongside the lesser known Tweed runners and modern day Mods showcasing the British people’s love of dressing up, creativity and humour. Complete Ltd were also honoured to contribute to this social documentary tome by providing our own long-standing tradition of expert colour management.
