Disegno AW14 Issue

The AW14 issue of Disegno Magazine is now published and ready to purchase from selected newsstands and bookshops.

The bi-annual design, architecture and fashion tome is now in it’s seventh printed edition. This issue is available in three pastel coloured covers and with a choice of a trio of different perspectives of a suspended spherical design by Olafur Eliasson. Complete Ltd is in charge of applying high-quality colour management to every page of the magazine. In this issue, Disegno’s editorial team travel to Tokyo to report on the work of milliner Maiko Takada for the feature, Aqueous Spines. In Los Angeles, writer Mimi Zeiger meets John Baldessari, they discuss his recent work with fashion house Saint Laurent. The conceptual artist’s work inspired the label’s creative director, Hedi Slimane.  From Baldessari’s artworks, Slimane created a design for a densely sequinned motif that was then applied to a trio of hand-embroidered, limited edition of 10, mini dresses for the iconic French fashion house.

Photographer Giles Price shot all the images for the piece entitled, The Smell of Design.  Kristina Rapacki summarises how olfactory design is now incorporated into the work of contemporary artists and colourful imagery illustrates Hella Jongerius’ thoughts on design in Industrial Evolution. Photographer Ola Bergengren created a shoot that looks at designer Ann-Sofie Back‘s iconic archive of clothes and accessories.
