Jocks&Nerds Spring 2016

Complete Ltd has worked on various front covers of men’s lifestyle quarterly Jocks&Nerds magazine since it’s inception in 2011.

And we are therefore proud to have been involved with the entire issue and it’s redesign for Spring 2016. The all-new more mature look and larger format was produced under the art direction of Daren Ellis. To coincide with the redesign, a 30 per cent increased print run has been introduced to cope with the popular demand at the newsstands.

On the cover is Hollywood’s Willem Dafoe. This lead story features an exclusive interview and fashion shoot with the actor, who excels in playing dark and eccentric roles and was shot by James Dimmock, the British photographer known for his work with high profile personalities from the world of music, acting and sport.

The rest of magazine is filled with articles on interesting topics and interviews with influencers from today’s modern culture. In this issue, electronica musician Matthew Herbert opens up his Whitstable studio and takes the reader on a tour around his workspace. Prior to a pair of documentaries being released, Frank Zappa the musical pioneer and voice of the people is also features in this issue. Other articles include, Don Letts, Jon Savage, Billy Childish and Joe CorrĂ© talking exclusively to Jocks&Nerds on the legacy of punk and Jonathan Meades at his Le Corbusier home in Marseille. Work featured twice in this issue is from London based photographer Derrick Santini. In Margate, Santini shot the fashion imagery to accompany an interview with the musician Meilyr Jones and Parallelogram, a fashion show from YMC‘s Fraser Moss whose catwalk show during the London Collections Men in January was staged whilst live musicians played pyschedelic sounds to the audience.

Jocks&Nerds is best known for it’s strong journalistic approach, unique, stunning photography and attention to detail. Complete Ltd is responsible for correcting all of the imagery and colour throughout this entire issue which makes for the perfect partner to work on this publication and with it’s publisher Tack Press, as we also boast a sharp eye and innate sense of care to detail. Each and every image throughout the magazine, whether part of an editorial or an advertisement has been treated and prepared for print individually so that the subject, clothing and details are shown to their best potential.
