125 Magazine Turns 10
Complete Ltd, long-time creative partner of 125 Magazine, joined them for an intimate reception at the Kings Cross viewing platform to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
The raised observation point is situated on the junction of King’s Boulevard and Goods Way, and well placed to view the ongoing redevelopment of the Kings Cross area. Arriving at the Viewing Platform to wish 125 Magazine a very happy birthday, we were greeted with Jameson’s Whisky cocktails and an invitation to admire Swiss artist Felice Varini’s ‘Across The Buildings‘ installation. The silver metallic artwork is made up of geometric shapes which are spread across the facades of nine Victorian buildings, including the new home of British fashion college institution Central St.Martins on Granary Square.
Argent, developers of the site, and 125 Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Perry Curties made short speeches welcoming everyone to the event. Argent also explained that this first phase of the area’s transformation will eventually place King’s Cross as a must visit destination for Arts and Culture. Perry Curties informed us that, to also mark a decade of their bi-annual photography, fashion, art and culture publication, that we should expect soon their book, 125X, featuring photography and editorial highlights from the last ten years.
To nicely round the evening off, 125 Magazine and event organisers, Paper PR, treated us to 1873 cocktails and handfuls of spicy bacon popcorn in the gorgeously glam Gilbert Scott bar situated in the recently restored St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, which is just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Viewing Platform.
With thanks to Brendan Bell who photographed all of the images used in this news article (except the image of Varini’s installation across the Granary Square buildings)
