Vice Magazine Acquire i-D Magazine

Global media brand, Vice and independent London publisher, i-D magazine announced their recent partnership on 18th December by tweeting  ‘ WE JUST GOT MARRIED! x’ Gerry McKeown, owner of Complete Ltd has worked with i-D Magazine since 1988 and received the news shortly before a further tweet regarding the acquisition appeared the social media site stating -

‘After more than 32 years as an independent publisher, i-D has joined forces with the Vice Media Group to allow the brand to thrive for years to come. x’

McKeown and his team at Complete Ltd have worked with i-D on many varied projects, exhibitions and creative campaigns as well as regularly handling all of the colour management and pre-press of every page and issue of the printed magazine. The joining of forces will see operations in London remain the same, with business as usual and all current staff staying on at the magazine continuing to produce the original style- heavy printed format. Over the years, Complete Ltd have helped create a series of special projects for the brand, including graphics for The Soul i-D book and exhibitions, i-D Covers book and creative campaigns and collaborations working directly alongside i-D’s Editor-in-Chief and Creative Director Terry Jones.

Vice’s interest intends to expand the brand in other areas. Andrew Creighton, now President of Vice Magazine , was a former advertising executive for i-D during the nineties, implied that the acquisition is a match made in style-culture heaven for the two cool, edgy brands –  “we know digital, i-D knows style, and together we’re going to give the world the gift of eye-catching, mind-blowing video-driven fashion content.”

Complete Ltd has worked with i-D’s creative and production teams with numerous personnel and throughout the technical transitions the industry witnessed as the world moved into the digital age. Complete Ltd looks forward to continuing to provide expert creative services for i-D as it enters its new ‘eye-catching, mind-blowing’ era
